High School Spring Clinics

FUNdamental Improvement 

Saturdays from 11:00am – 12:30pm
The goal of this clinic will be moving players from JV to Varsity. There will be a part of the game covered before each clinic, but the instruction will be player specific with a lot of “hands on” instruction. The focus will be to develop the fundamentals to play confidently and obtain the skills to perform at the next level. All aspects of the game will be addressed, with a concentration on ball striking, short game, putting and playing.
Dates: April 10, 17, 24, May 1, 8 & 15
Schedule: 11:00 am to 12:30 pm
Fees: $150 per player

Player Development

Saturdays from 1:00pm – 3:00pm
The goal of this clinic is to continue the development of the skills needed to compete at the top level. The focus will be on improving skills already in place and adding more to compliment those already in place. All aspects of the game will be addressed, with a concentration on shot making, course management, mental approach and scoring.
Dates: April 10, 17, 24, May 1, 8 & 15
Schedule: 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Fees: $150 per player

Summer Junior ADM Programs

All Junior ADM programs are scheduled to begin during the week of June 15th.
Program schedules are subject to change (specifically based on health and safety issues).

FUNdamentals – Boys 6-9, Girls 6-8

Weekly Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM
Dates: First sessions – June 15, 17, 22, 24, 29 July 1, 6, 13, 2021
Second session – July 20, 22, 27, 29 Aug. 3, 5, 10, 12, 2021
Fees: $160 monthly (4 weeks)

Objectives: Learn fundamental movement skills and overall motor skills. Practice becoming more proficient in fundamental movement skills before more sport-specific skills are introduced.

  • Emphasis on identifying and improving the child’s physical capacities, fundamental movement skills and the ABC’S of athleticism: agility, balance, coordination and speed.
  • Teach appropriate and correct running, jumping and throwing techniques.
  • Introduce basic flexibility exercises.
  • Develop speed, power and endurance using games.

The emphasis will be on FUN, keeping children engaged through games, activities, drills and unstructured practice.

LEARN to PLAY – Boys 9-12, Girls 8-11

Weekly Schedule: Wednesdays & Fridays 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM
Dates: First session – June 16, 18, 23, 25, 30 July 2, 7, 14, 2021
Second session – July 21, 23, 28, 30 Aug. 4, 6, 11, 13, 2021
Fees: $240 monthly (4 weeks)

Objectives: Continue to develop fundamental movement skills and increase the development of golf skills. “Learn to Play” will further develop the physical skills needed to play golf and many other sports as this is one of the most important ages to develop these skills for a young golfer to reach their full potential.

  • Further develop all fundamental movement skills and teach general fundamental golf skills (Otherwise, a significant window of opportunity is lost, comprising the ability of young golfers to reach their full potential).
  • Develop strength using exercises that incorporate the child’s own body weight.
  • Introduce hopping and bounding exercises or routines to aid in strength and power development.
  • Further develop endurance through continuous activity games and relays.
  • Along with physical golf skills, mental skills including focus and visualization will be introduced.
  • Curriculum involves 70% training and fun play with 30% competition-specific training and actual competitions.

*This is the age that players tend to gravitate to a specific sport but should be encouraged to play at least 3 sports in the same or overlapping seasons.

PLAY to IMPROVE – Boys 12-16, Girls 11-15

Weekly Schedule: Wednesdays & Fridays 12:30 to 2:30
Dates: First sessions – June 16, 18, 23, 25, 30 July 2, 7, 14, 2021
Second session – July 21, 23, 28, 30 Aug. 4, 6, 11, 13, 2021
Fees: $300 monthly (4 weeks)

Objectives: Reinforce basic and fundamental golf movement skill and build those skills into more competitive experiences.

  • Introduce aerobic training as the child matures to further develop levels of skill, speed, strength and flexibility.
  • These sessions will continue to work on athletic development and stretching as the rapid growth of bones at these ages leads to stress on tendons, ligaments and muscles thereby minimizing injuries that can carry over into adulthood.
  • Golf psychological development: love of the sport, simple goal setting, self-motivation, confidence, learning to make decisions, developing self-reliance, understanding winning and losing.
  • Competitions will be increased at this point.

PLAY to COMPETE – Boys 16-23, Girls 15-21

Weekly Schedule: Tuesday & Thursdays 12:30 to 2:30
Dates: First session – June 15, 17, 22, 24, 29 July 1, 6, 13, 2021
Second session – July 20, 22, 27, 29 Aug. 3, 5, 10, 12, 2021
Fees: $300 monthly (4 weeks)

Objectives: Established programs that ensure the technical, tactical and supporting ancillary skills of the individual player are improved to meet current and future competitive expectations.

  • These sessions will comprise of individual preparation that will focus on each golfer’s individual strengths and weaknesses with group practice and playing time.
  • Teach juniors who are now proficient at performing basic and sport-specific skills, to perform those skills under a variety of competitive conditions during training.
  • Emphasize individual preparation that addresses each golfer’s individual strengths and weaknesses.
  • The training-to-competition and competition-specific-training ratio is now 40:60.
